Coffeehouse observation No. 180

It is amazing how incredibly rude people can be. Within sight in the coffeehouse I see one woman working on her laptop, but she placed her coffee and pastry on the next table so now other patrons cannot use it. And two tables over are several people talking so loudly that I had to put on my headphones to listen to White Stripes. And I can still hear them. Thoughtlessness really should be a misdemeanor.

Rudeness sucks. And a person can be educated and rude. A local educator is sitting at the coffeehouse table next to me and she is conducting a web-conference and is speaking very loudly into the microphone of her headset. This has to breach some sort of coffeehouse etiquette, especially in a coffeehouse frequented by students trying to study. And to boot, the Bluetooth on her computer seems to interfere with mine so I’m about to shove her headset down her throat to my elbow. … OK, perhaps I’ll just work off line and turn on Autoslave (with headphones) to drown out her side of the webconference

A woman, who I suspect has an attention deficit problem, plopped her laptop and a briefcase onto a table for two and then began working on stuff at another table across the room. She’s taking up space at two different tables in a crowded coffeehouse. Does she not see the inherent rudeness in that?
